Cookies
This site stores almost nothing in your browser, and nothing at all for analytics unless you have said yes. Here is the whole picture.

Your current choice
This reads a value stored in your own browser. If you have blocked site storage, or you are in a private window, it will not find one and you will simply be asked again.
What is stored, and why
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
gydon-cookie-consent |
Local storage, not a cookie | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we stop asking | Until you clear it or clear your browser storage |
_ga, _ga_* |
Cookie, first party | Google Analytics. Counts visits and shows which pages get used. Only set if you accept. | Up to 2 years |
That is the complete list. There are no advertising cookies, no social media pixels, no session recording and no third party fonts. Everything this site loads, including its typefaces, comes from our own servers.
Strictly necessary
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, storage that is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for does not need consent. The only thing in that category here is the record of your cookie choice, which exists purely so we do not have to ask you on every page. We ask for consent for everything else.
How consent works here
- Analytics do not load at all until you accept. Nothing is set "pending" your answer.
- Rejecting takes one click, in the same place, at the same size as accepting.
- No box is ticked for you.
- You can change your mind at any time, on this page.
- Ignoring the banner is treated as a rejection, not as consent.
Where analytics are enabled, we run them through Google Consent Mode with every storage type denied by default, and only analytics storage is granted when you accept. Advertising storage stays denied, because we do not advertise to you.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every mainstream browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking everything may break parts of other websites, though it will not break this one.
Cookies inside the Gydon application
This page is about the public website. The Gydon application itself uses a session cookie to keep you signed in, and an optional cookie if you tick "remember me". Both are strictly necessary to provide a system you have logged into, and neither is used for tracking.
More on how we handle personal data is in the privacy notice.
